Sounds of Summer

My windows are open

Wish they weren’t

Music and voices of dereliction hurt my ears

Loud vacuums for the car carrying fast food bags from winter

I sit and try to develop characters by the window

Wouldn’t you know, they’re outside

Resources of summer

The sounds of summer

Inside information on the formation of next door neighbors

Slang has their fangs deep in the atmosphere

Give me a beer please

The calm of cold weather has been upended by blossoms

Noise is as noise does

Cuz

Barking downstairs

Phone convos out there

Where?

Where do you go to hear good noise?

Sound poise?

Every lyric of the song is branded on the clouds

Too damn loud!

The sounds of summer

A summer of sounds

I seek the solace of my earbuds now
